Late at night in a local clothing store in Montclair, NJ. Taken on the eve of Hurricane Sandy, no less.

  1. Jim, Doesn’t that look odd! The manikins look almost like real people–but no heads–especially the “guy” sitting down. I wonder if whoever designed that realized how strange and funny it looks. Most likely not as he/she would have done something to “fix” the “head thing” there. MCS

  2. Somehow, from my personal perspective, mannequins have always been visual and sensory triggers for vague ominous feelings! Frightening objects created to mimic human form, dressed in life-less drapes for human use… These headless ones seem somewhat less scary though, not sure why. The ones with the heads and fixed stares used to give me nightmares in my childhood!

Jim, I hope you are ok over there? Thinking of you from the opposite end of the world, down under in Oz!
