Maybe something like Roger Maris baseball cards and 19th century ballet arrangements and occult symbols taken from the pyramids and the history of the <b>James Knox Polk<\/b> presidency?  I was recently thinking about my own web site, and it struck me that I&#8217;m also presenting a rather eclectic mix of information. That made me think about my life and about the things that have captured my fancy over the years, and I concluded that they represent an even crazier mix.  It&#8217;s hard to see the connections sometimes.  If I could figure out how everything related, maybe I could figure myself out.  But right now I can&#8217;t.  Just when I thought I had myself figured out, back to the drawing board.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here&#8217;s a list of some of my favorite things.  See if you can make any more sense of it than I can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vegetarian food and cooking<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Taoism<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Red Wine<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Non-fiction books<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Modern physics<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Collecting stamps<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Railroads and trains, esp. from the 1950 &#8211; 1980 years<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Space exploration<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Meditation<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Book Stores and Libraries<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Growing Herbs (oregano, basil, parsley, etc.)<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Rainy, foggy nights<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Photography<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Microbrewed Beer<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Preventative Health Practices (including exercise)<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Looking at stars<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Aircraft carriers<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Spring flowers<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Theology<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Uncrowded public places<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Computer programming and web page composing<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>The historical aspects of Jesus of Nazareth and his brother James<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Social justice efforts, esp. urban poverty outreach<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Myers-Briggs temperament analysis<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Critical thinking, in general<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Politics (from afar; I&#8217;m not running for office!)<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Monks and monasteries<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Fighter jets<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Peace and harmony, cultural diversity<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Systems and how they work<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Ecology and environmental preservation<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Hiking<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Old buildings and neighborhoods<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>The Ashcan school, esp. John Sloan paintings<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Rock music<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Mornings and sunrises<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Histories of empires and wars<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Sleeping late<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Economics<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable clothes (the older the better)<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Most anything that&#8217;s intelligent and wise (not that empires and wars and politics and rock music and sleeping late always fit that category!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Oh yea, and <u>learning<\/u> (that&#8217;s why I&#8217;m the eternal student).<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Well, what can I say.
