You may not find much natural beauty in these shots taken out in the Hackensack River meadowlands in Bergen County, NJ. But unless you charge your laptop battery solely on solar or with a bicycle-powered dynamo, this stuff is necessary for you to see pics like this . . . and all the rest of the curious and sundry items existing for your inspection on the big World Wide Web.
Jim, Oh, how true. Every single time I see a row of these power lines carrying electricity to far places, I think of how completely fragile is our infrastructure. I saw one of these one time hit by lightning, massive green smoke arose, looking quite eerie, and in an instant all the surrounding area went dark.
Just ONE of these lines down and how many people are without electricity? Amazing to think about it–at least for me.
