1. Jim, Nice pictures of Newark, showing a neighborhood or neighborhoos. Something about these pix reminds me of the suburb I live in of about 100,000. But that may be because you have captured a particular neighborhood or neighborhoods in the larger city.

   I’ve come to realize that an area may seem to have no people in it; but check on the cars. If there are a lot, then people are home (or at work); if there are few cars, then the people in the area have either gone home from work or have left home for work. About the only time one actually sees *people* walking on the street is sometime after 5 p.m. when people have returned home from work when they walk their dogs; then it’s cars in the parking lots. (This where I live now.)

   It’s also clear to me that the ocean has a real effect on your temps. A “cold” day here would have steam coming from people’s breath, people bundled up in heavy coats (not jackets), probably snow on the ground; except for the fact that this winter has been upside down and at this point we have no snow either. But doubt that will last.

   Nice pictures. Amazing how much one can tell about the area from the pictures. MCS
